Introduction to Beautiful Chaos
This blog is birthed from a desire to look at my mental health recovery holistically rather than with just one or two “mainstream” approaches. After battling (and I truly battled!) this summer through a medication fail, I have come to the point where I realize something has to happen, medicine alone is not working. I will introduce the concepts that I am learning about and together we can look at things from mindfulness practice, to essential oils, to meditation and leisure activities. We can talk about medication and talk therapy, nutrition and exercise. I want to have this space dedicated to talking about how we can better ourselves and help to find a holistic balance in managing mental health.
As a disclaimer: I am NOT a professional, what I offer on my blog is not medical advice. Always speak to your doctor and a trusted love one if you feel like you are struggling with mental health. I am however, a peer, someone who is more than willing to walk along side you in your journey and have patience with you and ask the same of you, patience. I’m a work in progress.
As a Christian, I struggled many years trying to somehow reconcile my “broken mental health” with my faith; the truth is that we live in a sinful, fallen world and our bodies reflect this reality. We can however cling to our Creator and practice biblical concepts and truths in order to find balance. The beautiful thing about our faith is that it is NOT a feeling; it is a state of being, a way of life and our feelings do not enter into the equation. I can still be a Christian while my mental health fluctuates. God is big enough to handle that.
Let me know you’re there, so we can be in this together. There is no need to walk this road alone.
